Meet the Author Monday - Sarah Grimm

Please welcome, Sarah Grimm.

As a young girl, Sarah Grimm always had a story to tell. At times they were funny, other times scary, but they always ended with a happily-ever-after. Sarah spent years scribbling in notebooks, filling the pages with partial chapters and the margins with titles and story ideas. She told friends the characters spoke to her, and that she was compelled to get their stories on paper. Eventually, she sat down at a computer and wrote her first tale of dangerously sexy suspense. That book, Not Without Risk, is a 2011 Readers Favorite Award Winner.

Her second release and the first in her Midnight Heat Series, After Midnight, recently garnered a Finalist position in the 2012 Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence contest.

Sarah lives in West Michigan with her husband, two sons and three miniature schnauzers. Between mom’s taxi service, her day job, and keeping the books for the family marine repair business, Sarah can be found curled in her favorite chair, crafting her next novel.

Why do you write the stories you write?

I love reading romance. But, I love writing romance even more—bringing two people together, even if it is only in my imagination. I love the stuttered heartbeats when the hero and heroine first meet—that first glance. Heck, I love the second and third glances! I love the gut punch of sexual awareness, the sweetness of that first kiss, and the momentary panic over the realization they’ve fallen in love. I love the idea how even at the worst of times, at those moments when you least expect it, two people can find love. I love the idea of good conquering evil, of the hero and heroine winning against all odds, and the bad guy ‘getting what he deserves’ in the end.

Why would I want to write anything else?

What are your writing goals for this year?

My goal for 2012 is to complete the two works in progress I have going. Midnight Heat is book 2 of my Midnight Series and the follow up to After Midnight.

She wants to forget her past.
He wants to reclaim his.
Sometimes the moment that changes everything comes After Midnight.

She was the only woman to ever rock his world.
But this time he'll have to prove he's offering more than just Midnight Heat.

It features Black Phoenix bassist Dominic Price – a secondary character in book 1 who was very popular. (I can’t imagine why. *wink*) The other book I wish to complete is a romantic suspense titled At Any Cost that has been at the back of my mind for a while now.

Determined to protect Gabrielle At Any Cost, Michael discovers his future.

Do you have any releases scheduled for this year?

My very first book, Not Without Risk is being re-edited and will be re-released this year. I don’t have a set date right now, though. Sorry.

He has a killer to find and doesn't need a leggy brunette clouding his investigation. She wants to know who murdered her friend. As Paige and Justin try to stay one step ahead of a madman, love comes...Not Without Risk.

What do you like to read?

I love contemporary romance and romantic suspense, but also enjoy straight suspense now and then.

What would you like to know from readers?

What is your favorite theme in romance fiction? Are you a marriage of convenience addict? Or does a wounded hero melt your heart?

Great interview. Much luck with After Midnight!

The wounded hero falls into the number one slot for me. When I need a break from romantic suspense, I have a couple of historical authors I love.
