Please share a little bit about yourself.
I live in the UK and married to my own sexy hero. I have two
erotic romance novellas published with The Wild Rose Press, “Explicitly
English” and “Coming Back” as well as numerous short stories in UK national
magazines. I love my job! My next novella is about two Brits living in
Greece…where things get hot, hot, hot!
When I’m not writing, you can find me reading, watching American TV
dramas, running around after my two daughters.
Why do you write the stories you write?
I write erotic romance because I enjoy the freedom of
showing characterization through the explicit sexual scenes as well as actions
and dialogue. We are all at our most vulnerable during sex; we are showing
ourselves in every way and opening up for the chance of rejection…or worse,
ridicule. I think it is a massive emotional outlet for a romance writer.
My themes – as recently pointed out to me – tend to be trust
or new beginnings. This is not conscious…maybe I need to have a little look
inside myself to find out why!
What are your writing goals for this year?
To have at least three new novellas contracted – I just
contracted one with The Wild Rose Press and agreed on a title with my fabulous
editor. “Zante Heat” will start editing in the next couple of weeks so I am
hoping for a summer release date. Here’s the working blurb:
Chef Michelle
Hutton flies from the UK to Greece in search of a new beginning. Her first
encounter is with a sexy, pro-bono lawyer Sam Clarke.
In need of a job
and a future – Sam’s sister has a restaurant in desperate need of a new chef.
Michelle soon wonders if Sam is also the key to her future. He seems too good
to be true and her trust has been broken over and over. He’s sexy, capable and
totally in control. Too damn hard to resist…
Sam Clarke is on
a mission to help women in jeopardy. When he meets Michelle with hair like a
sheet of gold and eyes bluer than the ocean, the electricity between them is
hotter than a live wire. He soon learns she’s more than capable of demanding
and getting what she wants. She doesn’t need him; he should walk away…yet time
and again he goes back for more.
Do you have any releases scheduled for this year?
LOL! See above – that it’s so far but watch this space!
What do you like to read?
Everything and anything – my husband says I’d be happy reading
the back of a cereal packet! I enjoy all sub-genres of romance except for
paranormal. I just cannot get into it even though I keep trying! As well as romance,
I read straight historical and the occasional biography of the rich and famous
or past authors, now dead and gone.
What would you like to know from readers?
What types of heroes and heroines would you love to see in
your erotic romance? Alpha/Beta? Their vocations? Settings? I’d love to write a
book where it had all the popular components, lol!
Thanks for having me here today! Here’s the blurb for my
latest release, “Coming Back”…
Kelly Hampton loved once...and lost. After two years of looking for Sean
MacKenzie in other men--and failing miserably--she takes a vow of celibacy. No
sex until she finds love. Then Sean strolls back into her bar, reigniting old
flames. No one has come close to understanding or satisfying her like he did.
Her body burns for the passion they once shared, but her heart still remembers
the pain.
Sean escaped Jessop Hill and his father's fists in the middle of the
night without a word--even to his love, Kelly--to protect his battered mother,
but he never forgot the explosively erotic relationship he left behind. Now his
father is dead and Sean is back for the only woman he's ever wanted. Their
reunion is full of fire – but can sexual attraction and noble intentions
overcome years of heartache or will Kelly walk away to protect her heart this
time.

HI Emma and Rachel,
Wonderful interview! I love stories with British characters, esp. mysteries and romances. Also watching Brit-coms (go BBC America!) Rachel, your upcoming book sounds fascinating. I'm wondering, have you been to Greece yourself?
The books sound great! Wishing you all the best with everything :)
Hi Nora & Kellie!
Thanks for stopping by :)
Yes, Nora, my family and I actually had a two week holiday in Zante in 2009 but it was only last year that this story came to me. Zante is a beautiful place and I plan to do a story set in the Mediterranean island of Fuerteventura too. Another family holiday, I will make completely unsuitable for children, lol!
Thanks for your good wishes,
R x
Thanks for visiting, Nona and Kellie! And thanks for sharing a bit about yourself with us, Rachel.
